CIVITAS is an initiative of the European Union aimed at creating links between European cities that are at the forefront of solving urban transport problems.

CIVITAS partly provides an opportunity to apply for funding research and development projects for forward-looking transport solutions, and partly provides an opportunity for city experts to exchange experiences.

In recent years, several national and cross-border regional CIVITAS networks (CIVINET) have been set up so that cities in similar situations can share their results and experiences and learn from each other’s examples without language barriers.
